Year 5

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Another busy term has come to an end! During the past couple of weeks, the Year 5’s have participated in a range of activities. The following is a summary of a few:

Salvation Army visit: On the 4/6/18 the SRC organized for two representatives from the Salvation Army to come and talk about what they do for the community. One case worker gave the class a very informative speech about the homelessness, what causes it, how to prevent it and what they could do to help those in need.

Winter Crops: A few weeks ago we planted some crops in our veggie bins. These included rocket lettuce, spring onions and broccoli. Since then, our class has been monitoring the progress and keeping their crops healthy.

Bounce Back’ Incursion: On the 13/6/18 we had the ‘Bounce Back’ incursion in the library. This interactive workshop discussed the art of being resilient. It also provided students with various scenarios and relevant strategies. Most students enjoyed themselves and it really reinforced content learnt during Health lessons.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday!

Kind Regards,
Miss Funda Avan
